Creating a non-tech, friendly and approachable experience for the Danish .dk domain
DK Hostmaster changed their name to Punktum dk (translates to dot dk) and is the organisation that are responsible for the Danish internet domain “.dk”. Coming from a what-you-would-expect tech look and feel on the old website, Punktum dk has been transformed into a warm, relatable and delightful web experience.
The online identity was supported with a positive and modern illustration style, engaging the user in a completely different way than the usual "Matrix wall of 1’s and 0’s-aesthetics 😄 The internet is created by you and me – and Punktum dk should be reflecting that.As well as introducing a fresh new colour scheme and illustration universe, Punktum dk now have a selection of still photos and videos, too (I call them moving stills). They portray every day user scenarios where the internet has become second nature… whether you’re Pokemon hunting on a farm, checking your mushroom collection, shopping, skating with your mates, or playing iPad games at a buzzing café in the city.
The illustrations was art directed by me and created by the lovely Danish illustrator Rasmus Buhl. The photos was art directed and planned by me, too – and excellently executed by DOP Anders Ingvartsen.I challenged the idea about how a Tech McTechyface-website can and should look!
